Critical Care
John Kim, M.D., is a multi-board-certified specialist in pulmonary disease, internal medicine, and critical care services. Dr. Kim began his education at Columbia University in New York, New York, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research in May of 2003. He then went to Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, to obtain an Interdisciplinary Medical Science Program Certificate in July 2005. From there, he attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in May of 2010. From July 2010 to June 2013, Dr. Kim trained in an internal medicine residency program at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. He joined Stony Brook University Hospital from July 2013 to June 2016 for the pulmonary and critical care residency. He earned recognition as Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellow for the Class of 2016.
Before coming to Inland Physicians Medical Group, Dr. Kim served as an intensivist for the medical ICU unit and code team leader for cardiac arrests at Catholic Health Services of Long Island. He also volunteered in both Guatemala and Mexico in clinical settings.
He is conversant in Korean and Spanish, and in his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys running, studying technology and philosophy, and playing bass guitar.
