Elbert Chang, M.D.

Elbert Chang, M.D. is a multi-board-certified specialist in pulmonary disease, internal medicine, and critical care medicine. He has been a physician at Inland Pulmonary Medical Group since 2005.

Dr. Chang began his undergraduate studies in 1987 at the University of California, Berkley. He graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor in Molecular and Cell Biology. Moving across the country, he attended a one-year postbaccalaureate premedical program at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Chang was awarded his Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1998, becoming an IEA Honor Society member and qualifying for the Dean’s List.

He returned to New York, where he completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. Following its conclusion in 2001, he began a fellowship in pulmonary critical care and sleep, also at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. After completing his fellowship, he became an assistant attending with the surgical and trauma intensive care unit at Elmhurst hospital.

A dedicated instructor as well as a physician, Dr. Chang is an assistant clinical professor at the Western University of Health Services. He was named Outstanding Educator of the Year for 2005-2006. He is certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Chang is also trilingual in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese.
